Veterinary Services within tribal nations is limited. It is our goal to provide equine services directly into the Navajo & Hopi communities with affordable cost veterinary services, equine dentals,  castrations and hoof trim services. Annually, we pull together a team of veterinarians, equine dentists and farriers to provide these services.

The Equine Services and Education (ESE) Team has the opportunity:

1)  To provide equine veterinary services and education to students and owners in an immense, underserved region. Dentals, castrations, hoof trims, vaccinations and deworming.

2) To educate horse owners, veterinary students, Native American College students, Vet Tech students and trade school students.

3) To empower and recruit Native American students to pursue careers in veterinary medicine.

4) To assist in restoring rangeland severely damaged by equine overgrazing by unchecked equine reproduction.

5) To create an immunological barrier to the zoonotic Rabies and West Nile Virus.

Our ESE Team is made up of volunteers that donate one week of professional equine services. Each professional dedicates their time, energy and expertise. We camp and move to five different locations within the tribal communities. The days are long but so very gratifying. Each horse owner has expressed their appreciation of these services.
